You will be asked for your email address and name, you will need to accept our privacy policy, and you will need to use a double opt in method of signing up for the newsletter, to ensure that you do not sign up for the newsletter by mistake.  The newsletter is emailed to your inbox and typically contains:

  • Recently published articles

  • Special offers that might interest you

When You Sign Up for a Newsletter Subscription to The New Homesteader’s Almanac …

You will first need to submit your information, agree to our privacy policy and confirm your subscription. Signing up for our newsletter is a voluntary action and you are not required to subscribe in order to read our posts. Subscribing allows you to receive notices from us.

The Opt In Form

To make sure that you really intended to sign up for the newsletter mailings, you will be asked to confirm your subscription with an opt in form. This may seem redundant, but it is put in place for your protection and to weed out spammers.

How To Unsubscribe

If, at any time, you no longer wish to receive our newsletters, you will find a link at the end of each newsletter that says “to change your subscription, click here.” All you have to do is click that link and unsubscribe. The changes take place immediately and if you have any questions or problems, or if you are unsure how to unsubscribe, please contact us.

Readers who unsubscribe will be deleted from our records during the next clean up session. Generally, the personal information for unsubscribed members is deleted once a week to keep our newsletter list up to date.

Unconfirmed Subscriptions

Sometimes a reader submits a subscription but doesn’t confirm it with the second opt in form. When this happens, we may resend the confirmation form just in case the first one was lost in a spam folder. If the prospective subscriber does not confirm their subscription in a reasonable amount of time, the ‘subscriber’ and all of his or her personal information will be deleted.

What Information Is Collected When You Subscribe To Our Newsletter?

If you choose to subscribe to newsletter mailings from The New Homesteader’s Almanac Newsletter, the following information will be collected and stored privately on our website:

  • Your name (you can choose an alias, just your first name, or your full name…this is your choice and you submit that information at your own discretion)
